Become a Pedorthist

Are you looking for an exciting career in healthcare? Pedorthics may be the right choice for you.

Pedorthics combines all the things I enjoy. Helping people, working with my hands, my passion for health and wellness and my interest in anatomy and biomechanics.

I could never imagine sitting behind a desk all day but I never thought I’d find a career that offers such a good mix of patient interaction and craftsmanship.

I like the variety pedorthics offers. I consult with patients one day and the next day I’m in my clinic’s onsite lab
designing and creating custom made orthotics.

Sports have always been a huge part of my life. As a Pedorthist, I get to spend my days helping people stay active but I still have time to enjoy sports myself.

Pedorthics is a beautiful mix of my Kinesiology degree and my love of working with my hands.

I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare; as soon as I learned about pedorthics I knew it was the field for me.

I enjoyed the hands-on application of my studies through the apprentice program. It was great to be able to learn in a clinical setting.

I took the online pedorthics distant learning program. It really appealed to me as I could qualify in one year and I could complete it from home.

Whether you qualify through an apprenticeship or distant learning you take the same certification exams.

Many of my friends had trouble finding a job in their field when they graduated but I had no problem. As a Canadian Certified Pedorthist I had a lot of options.

I work in a multi-disciplinary healthcare clinic alongside a physician, physiotherapist and chiropodist. Together we collaborate to ensure our patients receive the best possible care.

Pedorthists is a fast growing healthcare profession – with excellent employment opportunities after graduation.
